A: The MCBGP does not require the GRE for admission and does not consider GRE scores in evaluating applications.
Q: What are the GPA requirements for admission to the MCBGP?
A: There are no strict GPA requirements for admission. We take a holistic approach to the admissions process and consider many factors.
Q: Do I need to have identified/contacted a thesis advisor in order to be eligible for admission?
A: No, but we encourage you to familiarize yourself with our faculty trainers, and you are welcome to contact potential thesis advisors. We suggest that you identify 2-3 faculty trainers whose work interests you in your application.
Q: I am an international student. How can I get information specific to my situation?

Q: Will I get a fellowship/assistantship/traineeship as part of my acceptance? What are my chances of receiving funding as part of my acceptance?
A: The MCBGP ensures that all of our students receive financial support.
Q: How long does it take to complete a PhD in MCBGP?
A: Tenure in the program is dependent on each individual student's progress. The average time to degree is approximately 5.5 years.
Q: Can I apply for the Open Graduate Education Program?
A: Yes, but probably not until after passing your qualifying exam. The Open Graduate Education Program application process is competitive.
