How to Set Up Alinta Energy Direct Debit

The easiest way to pay your Alinta Energy bill is by direct debit.

There are four ways to set up a direct debit for your Alinta Energy bill payments.

Set up Alinta Energy direct debit online
Go to alintaenergy.com.au/directdebit and use your Alinta Energy account information to set up a direct debit. You will need your account number and personal details, information about your connection, and valid bank account information.

With Alinta Energy direct debit online form
Download an Alinta Energy Direct Debit Request PDF and fill it out with your account details. Return the direct debit form using one of the Alinta Energy contact details at the bottom of the request.

Using Your Alinta Energy Login on MyAccount
Navigate to “My Payments” and select “Direct Debit”. Provide the required information including a valid bank account or credit card. You can also set up Alinta Energy Bill Smoothing if you prefer to pay your Alinta Energy bill in smaller, more frequent instalments.

Call Alinta Energy
You can call Alinta Energy at 13 37 02 ( 13 13 58 in WA) to set up a direct debit for Alinta Energy bill payments. You will need to provide your Alinta Energy customer reference number, full name, date of birth, energy supply address, and preferred payment method.

What is Alinta Energy Bill Smoothing?

If you set up a direct debit for your Alinta Energy bill payments, you have the option to sign up for Bill Smoothing, also known as SmoothPay.

Traditionally, energy bills are sent out every quarter when your meter is read. However, SmoothPay allows you to take your estimated annual usage and energy costs and divide them into smaller, more frequent instalments.

In addition, if you have a smart meter you might be eligible for monthly energy bill cycles.

How to Understand Your Alinta Energy Bill

Energy distributor contact details: Who to contact in case of an energy emergency such as a power outage or fallen wires

Account balance: How much you owe (or how much energy credit you have) on your energy account

Energy usage: How much electricity you have used per day for the billing period, as well as a comparison to previous bills and your greenhouse gas emissions
